Business Registration/Organisational Structure 

Selecting to apply for an ABN (Australian Business Number) allowing my business to be identified by the government and general public. Inclusive to this ABN will allow Spill the Tea to claim GST and other grant credits.

 

Registering Spill the Tea as a business name will ensure legitimacy of the business and will remove the chance of copyright. These applications do not require costs.

Hierarchical Organisational Structure: Traditional organisational structure, which provides employees basic description of their roles responsibilities to determinate their level of control within Spill the Tea.

Compulsory/Workers compensation Insurance- Compulsory for all Australian Businesses and reliability in regarding work-related illnesses or accidents for all workers.

Life insurance/Income protection or disability insurance- covers income if death, or serious injury occurs. 

Business interruption or loss of profits- covers income if business suffers from any property damage.

Product liability insurance- ensure products goods and service safety in case of injury or death.

Goods in transit- covers all products and services, bought, or sold through transportation

By applying for these insurances ensure safe production and transportation of products within Spill the Tea.

Legal Ownership/Operations Structure

Working as a Sole Trader giving Spill the Tea accesses to all assets and business decisions, in addition, unlimited liability is included in the structure. This structure is perfect for a start up business such as Spill the Tea as it is easy to set up and operate this can be changed if there is growth in the business.

In Addition to the structure Spill the Tea recognises in becoming a certified B corporation to balance purpose and profit within the business.

Spill the tea operations refers to quality control, logistics, management and production of goods and services provided by our company. 

SWOT ANALYSIS

It is evident that there is a lack of threats within my business, such as competition, technology, and product demand; luckily, these threats can be managed and organise to prevent problems. 

Strengths

Flavours- Having a unique flavor selection, sourcing tea flavours from all around the world.
Marketing- Has key goals and strategies in marketing, with influences and charities to endorse the product.
The Team- Small group of employees, who have the same goals and ethical values in the business. Working together like one big family.
Packaging- All packaging is Biodegradable and Recyclable as well as aesthetically pleasing. 

Health Benefits- Tea flavors also help with stress, anxiety and sleep

Weaknesses

Funding- Relying on grants funded by the government for the production of an environmentally friendly product.
New to Business- As a startup business there is a lack of relevance and customer relationships.
Distribution- Spill the Tea isn’t located in many stores around Australia and needs to be spread out to supermarkets to gain more awareness.
Product Price- The product will be higher in value unlike other teas due to the raw and natural materials used to create biodegradable and sustainable products, along with the tea coming from local suppliers. 

Opportunities

Ethical Growth- Australians are becoming more environmentally aware and health conscious in today’s society and are wanting to implement more sustainable practices in their everyday life.
Charities- Collaborating with charities to help support the prevention of global warming and pollution.
Raw Materials- One of a kind product as the whole product in Biodegradable and compostable.
Collaboration- working in partnership with other companies with the same ethical and sustainable values such as BioPak to create collaboration products. 

Threats

Potential Competition- Tea companies such as T2 are already investing in sustainable tea, with such a large competitor it may be hard to get into the market.

Product Demand- Lack of knowledge in sales, could run out of stock if mass sales are produced.
Technology- Lack of knowledge in the technology department, if machines or POS systems such down would slow down business production.
Pandemic- In the state of a pandemic such as COVID-19 back up revenue streams and sale methods should be applied.
